of course it could be that GW2 will focus less on skills and more on mouse/keyboard reflexes, which would mean click travel would naturally be removed (from all the GW2 interviews and info, this is what I think is going to happen).
well im sure they wouldnt be taking out if they had a good idea that worked just as well if not better

Not anyone could take it 'cause you have to link accounts and use the same character name.

"With regards names and GW2 characters inheriting from GW1 characters...GW1 character names will be reserved in GW2 and you will need to link your GW1 and GW2 accounts to retrieve the name." Notice, regarding names/GW2 characters inheriting- you will need to link accounts to retrieve the name. He says retrieve the name, not retrieve the name and the inheritance 'cause inheritance seems attached to the name.

Well, it's actually worded a bit awkwardly. But I haven't seen anything yet that says you don't need to use the same name, but what I have seen seems to imply you do.

actually, while their current system of skills based gameplay is successful, I believe Anet may be going for the masses in order to become even more successful... so I fear in GW2, we will get a dumbed down version of GW1.

of course it's too early to tell anything for sure, but through all interviews and info, this is what seems to be happening (to me, at least).

There won't be different character types for roleplaying and PvP, so you won't need to create a PvP character or anything like that. In Guild Wars 2, any character can go into the balanced, competitive PvP matches, and when they do they will have access to the high-end skills for their class like the other players, and they can immediately jump into high-end PvP.
I did not know this. This sounds awesome and will allow you to get a handle on various skills in the game esp in World PvP. This is awesome!!! No more wasting account space by creating separate PvP character. This means I will be getting a character of every profession out there!!

I was talking about map travel. If there are no towns as such, they'll have to create some other form of teleport node.

So ... from my current understanding of the system, I do not believe that you will have to carry over the name in order to inherit. The system reserves character names from GW1 for you so that you will have the option of reusing them (and not have to worry about someone else grabbing the name all your friends and enemies know you by). I do feel that it will be optional, however: if you don't want to carry over character names for whatever reason, I don't think we'd force you to do that.

I hope they are not reserved forever...too many good names are already out of circulation on (probably) dormant accounts...

My philosophy is that if the name's taken then it's no longer that good since there's probably a million versions of it with misspellings or "X's" around it.

I hate names like that in an RPG, they're just lame. Why can't people be creative?

Anet.. good idea?

No offence but they have popped more then enough cherries to make me think they have a dart board at head office with pieces of paper with randomly written words on them for "updates".

I'm sure they are taking out and putting in alot of things because they have lost alot of direction because they aren't listening to us.

Not just my idea's or anyone else's but so many things from the past till now completely outweigh what they have done positively for us as customers, only reason were playing is cause were hooked.

So basicly the new world pvp system will be a Zerg system. Who ever has the most players on their side will win.

Lots of fun when you have 200 vs 50. Ya you can wander around on your own but people will make teams together and just mow people down. If something like that is going to work it needs to be a HUGE area. That way if there is a population difference (which there will be) then side with less players can win by strategy and not numbers.

So basically, One is the new AB on steroids. And the other is the traditional type of PvP.

And as always, its an option to play either one. Good Job Anet.
